Google anunció el lanzamiento de una nueva versión de su aplicación de Inteligencia Artificial (IA) generativa para teléfonos inteligentes, Bard, a la que rebautizó como Gemini, y de su interfaz más avanzada hasta la fecha, la Ultra 1.0.
El cambio de nombre de Bard se produce un año después de que el gigante de los motores de búsqueda de internet lanzara su robot conversacional -chatbot- en un intento frenético por alcanzar a Bing, de Microsoft, a medida que se intensifica la carrera por el desarrollo de la IA y supremacía en este campo.
Desde su lanzamiento, los chatbots se han desarrollado hasta tener capacidad de generar imágenes de realismo impresionante y textos en respuesta a diversos tipos de preguntas en todas las áreas, basándose en bases de datos extraídos de Internet.
Gemini estará disponible a través de un enlace fácil de ver en la aplicación de Google para iPhones, lo que indica que el chatbot de inteligencia artificial se está convirtiendo en una parte integral de la experiencia del consumidor, casi al mismo nivel que los motores de búsqueda.
Google también anunció el lanzamiento de Gemini Ultra 1.0, su modelo de IA generativa más potente hasta la fecha, que estará disponible como chatbot avanzado por 20 dólares al mes en 150 países, aunque solamente en idioma inglés.
Gemini y Gemini Advanced, menos potentes, serán aplicaciones independientes para teléfonos Android y se integrarán en la aplicación de Google para iPhone.
El anuncio de Google se produjo un día después de que Microsoft dijera que había renovado su aplicación equivalente, Copilot, que es el nuevo nombre del chatbot de Bing.
